Yesterday, the same sales agent called back trying to sell me the Monster products. I am still not convinced. They offer me to browse in the German data base of 900,000 CVs for something like Euro 1,000, or have a classified in Germany for Euro 799 (or world wide for Euro 10,000). But she wasn’t really able to advise me on the strategy of search.
Well, I must confess, I haven’t yet produced a job profile for my virtual co-workers. Maybe I should start from this end…
Hi Holger… following all this with great interest. Here’s a thought… might it be that the kind of person you are looking to bring on board (virtually) may not be listed on Monster. They are pretty “old school” when it comes to jobs and resumes.
Maybe the kinds of people you are looking for can be more easily found on some of the various social networking sites… i.e. ning and all its derivitive sites, facebook, linked-in, etc.
Cheers! /jeff
I agree fully Jeff. This was also my impression that Monster is nothing else than a classical recruiter who went online. I will certainly use the social networks at the appropriate time.
